Join the Plainfield Park District for a trip to see Santa at the North Pole this December. The journey to Santa’s neighborhood will begin at Four Season’s Park, 22500 Lockport St. in Plainfield, on December 7 and 8.
Sign up for the time and date that works best for your family then enjoy the ride, which includes hot chocolate, cookies and popcorn.
Your journey through the woods will wind past several new holiday scenes along new routes that make their debut this year. Travelers will each receive a pair of 3D glasses that enhance the holiday light show along the way.
Once you arrive at the North Pole, warm yourself up near a roaring fire and have your wish lists ready for your visit with Santa Claus himself who will be handing out Christmas bells to each child.
Trips disembark every 20 minutes starting at 5 p.m. on Dec. 7 & 8 and run until 8 p.m.
Deadline to sign up is noon Dec. 7, cost is $9 for residents/$12 non-residents and is for ages 2-years and older with a responsible adult.
Fees are per person, as kids one-year-old and younger are free with a paid adult.
The event will take place outside in potentially cold, snowy weather — please dress for the conditions.
