Senior Star at Weber Place is pleased to announce today the appointment of Michael Maggiore as the new executive director of its senior living community.

Maggiore brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in a wide variety of health care settings, most recently serving as the executive director of an assisted living and memory support community in Grayslake.  With experience in leadership and relationship management, and a passion for a purposeful culture, Maggiore is excited about his new role at Senior Star.

“Senior Star’s culture and mission statement is clear and honest, and has a direct correlation to the care for residents and associates,” said Maggiore.  “The average tenure and satisfaction rating of Senior Star’s associates is nearly double in contrast to industry standards as noted by its recent rank as number three on Fortune magazine’s list of 50 Best Workplaces for Aging Services.  Those numbers speak volumes to the type of culture that is created and maintained.”

Looking ahead into the new year, Maggiore would like to incorporate more educational and artistic programming for residents in addition to expanding the culinary offerings.  “The arts are vitally important for mind stimulation, not just to keep residents busy,” said Maggiore.  “I’d like to incorporate sculpting and other arts and educational programs as a means to expand intellect and hobbies.  I also love to cook and to stick my head in the kitchen.  I want to be creative with meals and look forward to working with our culinary team to bring new items to the menu.”

To further position Senior Star’s leadership, Maggiore will be reviewing ongoing advancements and new technologies for memory care residents and evaluating clinical excellence across all of Weber Place’s distinctive living experiences.  “As technology grows and advances, Weber Place will be among the first to implement when and where it’s appropriate for our residents and associates,” Maggiore said.

Maggiore holds a Bachelor of Science degree in health arts from the University of St. Francis, Joliet.
