State Rep. Larry Walsh, Jr., D-Elwood, and state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, are inviting residents to learn how they can lower their property tax bill at their Property Tax Assessment Seminar on Thursday, June 8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Joliet Public Library-Black Road Branch, located at 3395 Black Rd. in Joliet.

“I understand how difficult it is for families to make ends meet and I am working to help residents keep more of their hard-earned money,” Walsh said. “I encourage residents to attend this informative seminar and learn how they can lower their property taxes.”

Walsh and Manley’s Property Tax Assessment Seminar will feature experts from the Will County Assessor’s Office. Residents can learn about the basics of property assessments, how to appeal the assessment and what exemptions are available. Homeowners are encouraged to bring their assessment bills and any related documentation to receive one-on-one help.

“When I walk door-to-door and speak with homeowners in my district, the number one issue that comes up is rising property taxes and how it is harder ever year for families to afford to live in Illinois,” Manley said. “I am working in Springfield to lower property taxes and give middle-class families real relief.”

To RSVP, or for more information, please contact Manley’s constituent service office at 815-725-2741 or at RepManley@gmail.com. Residents may also contact Rep. Walsh’s constituent service office at 815-730-8600 or at StateRepLarryWalshJr@gmail.com for additional information.
