APRIL 22-23

“The Worst High School Play.” 6:30 at Lukancic Middle School,  725 Normantown Road, Romeoville. Raised by squirrels and trained by nuns, the lost prince of Saxonia sets off to reclaim his throne in the Lukancic Middle School Drama Club’s production of, “The Worst High School Play in the World.” Tickets are available at the door the nights of the show. Adult Tickets are $4. Students are $3. Children 6 and under may attend free of charge. Three-night passes will be available Thursday night for $10.

 

APRIL 23

Free Family Health Fair. 10 a.m. to noon at VNA Clinic, 160 N. Independence Blvd. VNA Health Care will host a free family “Walk Into Wellness” health fair. Parents can take advantage of this opportunity to have their child’s school and sports physicals completed. The vaccinations and office visit are free for children with Aetna Better Health, Blue Cross Community or Harmony Medicaid Health Plans if VNA is the Primary Care Provider. All Walk into Wellness events include free health screenings, a healthy cooking demonstration with samples, a raffle and more. For more information about VNA, visit www.vnahealth.com. This event is offered in partnership with the American Heart Association.

 

APRIL 25

The Home Buying Process. 7 p.m. at Fountaindale Public Library, 300 W. Briarcliff Road. This class will bring in a panel of experts to answer your questions about the complete home buying process.

Muslim/American, American/Muslim exhibition reception. 7 to 9 p.m. at Lewis University, 1 University Parkway, Romeoville. The exhibit by Robert Gerhardt will be on display until April 25 in the Brent and Jean Wadsworth Family Gallery. The free exhibit is open to the public and will be on display from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. daily. Both events are free and open to the public.

 

APRIL 26

Mortgage Basics. 7 p.m. at Fountaindale Public Library, 300 W. Briarcliff Road. Learn the process for obtaining a mortgage.

APRIL 27

Understanding Credit. 7 p.m. at Fountaindale Public Library, 300 W. Briarcliff Road. Learn the advantages and disadvantages of credit, steps to improve your credit, and good credit practices.

FAFSA Workshop. 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Joliet Junior College, 1215 Houbolt Road. Parents and students who need help completing the FAFSA can attend one of Joliet Junior College’s FAFSA and scholarship workshops. All local parents and students can attend for free, regardless of what school they plan to attend in the fall.

 

APRIL 28

Budgeting and Saving. 7 p.m. at Fountaindale Public Library, 300 W. Briarcliff Road. Learn skills for creating and managing a household budget as well as putting together a savings plan.
