The Valley View School District 365U Board of Education has approved the naming of Adam Hurder to the position of Executive Director for Education Services for grades six-12.
Hurder is currently VVSD’s Executive Director for Educational Services Grades Pre-kindergarten-fifth grade.
Hurder began serving in VVSD in 2007 as a fifth grade teacher at Irene King Elementary School. He joined the District administrative staff in 2012 when he was named Math and Science Curriculum Coordinator.
Hurder served in that position for two years and then was promoted to Director of Math and Science Curriculum & Instruction for grades Pre-kindergarten-fifth. He then assumed his current role in July 2016.
Hurder earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Southern California in 2000.
He continued his education by earning a Master of the Arts degree in Teaching from National Louis University in 2006 followed by a Master of the Arts degree in Leadership from Concordia University in River Forest, IL in 2013. Hurder began his work in education in 2005 as Supplemental Education Services Coordinator for the Chicago Public Schools in 2005.
