“Best College” in MONEY magazine ranking
The University of St. Francis (USF) is ranked as the number one private Master’s institution in Illinois by MONEY magazine in the 2017 “Best Colleges for Your Money” list.
The study utilizes research on education quality, financing and value to determine the 711 colleges and universities that made the list. Factors within these categories include instructor and peer quality, net price of a degree and graduate earnings. At No. 234 overall, the listing highlights USF’s generous financial aid benefits and strong graduation rate as major assets to the university. Ninety-nine percent of students receive some kind of financial aid, including the 86% who receive merit-based grants.

College of Distinction for sixth year
The University of St. Francis (USF) is proud to be named a 2017-18 College of Distinction. The university earned distinctions for the nursing, business and education programs in addition to the Catholic college distinction. This is the sixth consecutive year that USF has been recognized for its outstanding work.
Colleges of Distinction seeks out colleges and universities whose curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, writing, presentation skills, research and global perspectives. Colleges that have distinguished themselves in those four areas and have demonstrated dedication to enriching student outcomes through innovative learning opportunities are recognized.
St. Francis strives to provide its students with a variety of learning opportunities both in and outside the classroom. Students are challenged to put their education to the test by participating in internships, work-study and research projects in addition to their standard curriculum. USF also offers study abroad programming to several locations around the globe and hosts many international students throughout the school year.
