The 2nd Annual Romeoville Art Society’s Art Gala is May 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the White Oak Library District Romeoville Branch at 201 W. Normantown Rd., Romeoville.
Original art will be on display and offered for sale. The event will include guest performances by area high school and college musicians Jerrod Sergeant, Rachel Coop and Emma Coop. There will be poetry readings by members of the Romeoville Art Society and by participants of the community art and poetry contest. The White Oak Library Romeoville Branch and the Romeoville Art Society are also sponsoring a children’s coloring contest. The coloring sheet created by Rich Green, illustrator and Romeoville Art Society founding member can be picked up at the White Oak Library in Romeoville or the Community Centre at HighPoint in Romeoville.
This free event is open to the public.
Featured again at this year’s Gala will be all of the poetry and art submitted for the entire 2017-2018 season which was voted on by the patrons of the White Oak Library in Romeoville.
The “Art and Poetry Community Contest” was created and is sponsored by the Romeoville Art Society and its partnering community sponsors.
